GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 PROJECT 3A’s: Alaga at Aruga sa Adopted Community By: TLP Demi Moore Dumasig On July 29, 2026, the Rotary Club of Broadway Quezon City successfully carried out Project 3A: Alaga at Aruga sa Adopted Community, a continuing signature community service project whose name was given by TLP Demi. Anchored on the Rotary commitment to Create Lasting Impact, the project addressed three important areas: Maternal and Child Health, Disease Prevention and Treatment, and Basic Education and Literacy. The first component featured an Adopted Barangay Visit and MOA Signing at Brgy. Tatalon, establishing a stronger partnership with the community. This was followed by a Basic Pregnancy Care Talk designed to promote awareness and responsible maternal health. Mom’s Kits and Hygiene Kits, together with food meals, were distributed to beneficiaries as a gesture of care and support. The second component brought the Rotary team to its Adopted High School, Dr. Josefa Jara Martinez High School, for a comprehensive discussion and community assessment, focusing on the school’s educational concerns and identifying opportunities where Rotary can provide meaningful assistance, especially for the Reading Intervention Program. For TLP Demi, a Licensed Professional Teacher, this initiative carries a personal advocacy: to bring back heart into the academe through Rotary community service by nurturing not only students’ learning but also their hopes, values, and dreams. The third component was the Adopted Elementary School’s Annual Children’s Party for Indigent Pupils and PWD Learners at Diosdado P. Macapagal Elementary School. And this year, we tapped the participation of the Barangay Tatalon team headed by Hon. Emmanuel "Kiko" Del Mundo. We both decided to include PWD learners as we promote inclusivity and fairness in society, and the school vicinity is a safe space for all concerned. The program featured Digital Storytelling, an interactive Q&A highlighting the morals of the story, headed by TLP Demi, and a lively flash mob dance participated in by the RCC, RC Broadway QC, parents, guardians, and children. School Kits and Jollibee Kiddie Meals were also distributed to bring joy and encouragement to the young beneficiaries. The day concluded with a simple yet meaningful mini fellowship of RCBQC and RCC over lunch. It was a moment to celebrate partnership, gratitude, service, and to thank everyone who supported, participated in, and witnessed this meaningful undertaking. Rotary Club of Broadway Quezon City
